**FREE** Pentax K-3 e-book sample. Take a peek before you buy.

Email: brqyvn@gmail.com

 Hi Photographer friends,

The Pentax K-3 "Everything you need to know...and then some" e-book can be downloaded for free. Check the table of contents and many pages of the e-book before you buy. It is the only e-book for the K-3 and it's my best and most complete e-book about a Pentax camera yet. (according to the many positive emails I received)

When you purchase my K-3 e-book, you are eligible for a free download every time  the e-book is updated. The e-book format is PFD and is compatible with all devices that read PDF files. Unlike hardback and paperback books, e-books can be updated at any time without having to reprint hundreds or thousands of copies, not to mention the hard copies that would have to be trashed.

Once you purchase any of my e-book, you get all future upgrades for free. I listen to my readers and  make revisions as needed. When Ricoh/Pentax update their firmware, I revise my e-book accordingly. The release date is posted on the front cover and on the e-commerce store.

New releases are always posted on this website. If you join this site as a follower, or a Google+ follower, or Facebook or Twitter, you will automatically receive notifications every time something is published on this site.

30 years of Pentax & Ricoh! - on DPReview from Phil Zucker

Email: brqyvn@gmail.com

 Hi Photographer friends,

I was surfing the internet to see how far back Ricoh had been involved in photography before buying Pentax. In my search, I stumbled on this post on DPReview from Phil Zucker. I urged you to read the full post. It very interesting.

30 years of Pentax & Ricoh!

Right now it's almost exactly 30 years that I bought into a K mount system. Back in 1983 I didn't know that Ricoh and Pentax would be one and the same company sometime in the future. But I seemingly was very farsighted back then: My first SRL was a Ricoh XR-7 – with a SMC Pentax M50/1.7 on it!
Thirty years later that combo still runs well, but isn't used any more. I still have it, as most stuff from the pre-digital age. Product cycles were slower back then – and we didn't have Ebay to hawk things either …
So here I present my personal 30 years of Pentax & Ricoh gear. What you see is what I (still) possess: five K mount bodies (two film, three digital), one compact (film), seven Pentax lenses (three digital, four full frame) and one Ricoh lens (full frame). To honor the occasion I had to multiply this a bit to make it more appealing:

Thirty years of Ricoh & Pentax gear in one single 360 degree view!
What you don't see on this pic is the K-01 and the DA10-17 – they were somehow needed to do it. Also you can't see a very fine Pentax lens I still own but haven't with me right now – the one of my enlarger I used doing b/w-stuff back in the film ages.

The Pentax K-3 will also be available in French. Le Pentax K-3 sera également disponible en français.

Email: brqyvn@gmail.com

Hi Photographer friends,

There is such a demand for the Pentax K-3 e-book that I decided to translate it to French as well. I am French after all. It will not be completed before at least one Month. However, if someone purchased the English version and would prefer the French version, I will gladly send a free copy in French.

*****************

Salut mes amis photographes.

By the way, this is where I currently live. The backyard is really big and changes constantly.

En passant, c'est là où je vis actuellement. La cour arrière est vraiment grande et change constamment.

This is my office, where I wrote the e-book for the K-3. Life is good.

C'est mon bureau, où j'ai écrit le livre électronique pour le K-3. La vie est belle.

Best Regards,
Cordialement,

The more I use the Pentax K-3, the more I like it.

Email: brqyvn@gmail.com

 Hi Photographer friends,

The more I use the Pentax K-3, the more I like it. I think that Ricoh, now being the owner, has changed a lot for the better.

First, I applaud them for keeping relatively the same body as the K-7/K-5. The ergonomic is great, why change it. It saves money and I think the savings were passed on to us.

The new AF system is incredible.

The movie mode is so that I believe you could shoot professional movies, after all it has 1080P @ 24 fps, just like cinema movies.

In January, my e-book for the K-3 will be updated with new information, links to videos showing some of the "How-to" in the e-book in a real  cinematographic way. Some of the explanations will also be linked to elaborate explanations from various sites on the internet.

If you have some subjects you would like me to elaborate more on, email me, there are good chances that I will include that in the next edition. Remember that the next edition will be free for people that already purchased the e-book.

Paper books were great, but the capabilities of e-books are far more flexible.

The K-3 e-book is available for $14.99 here and other Pentax e-books are also available there too.

Best Regards,

Yvon Bourque

The Pentax K-3 is a hell of a great camera. That's why it is taking me so long to write my e-book.

Email: brqyvn@gmail.com

Hi Photographer friends,

I wrote e-books for all the previous Pentax DSLRs since 2006. I pride myself in the fact that I wrote the e-books in an easy to understand way.

There are a lot of professional photographers or even advanced amateurs that can understand all of the attributes of any cameras in a heartbeat, without any manual, or so they say. I have been a photographer all of my adult life, and I understand photography very well.

However, I doubt that anyone can learn everything about the complex modern DSLRs available nowadays, just by fiddling around with the camera.  There are always hidden capabilities to every new DSLR and the only way to find out about them is to read the manual and have the camera in hand as you try everything.

Not everyone like or can understand technical oriented manuals that come with the purchase of a new camera. The manufacturer manuals tend to assume that the readers already know a lot about photography and therefore, offer descriptions of “what” the camera can do. There are more than the “what” required learning about any device. You need to know the “how”, the “when”, the “why”, etc.

The new Pentax K-3 is a quantum leap in capabilities, when compared to previous Pentax DSLRs. It uses a new antialiasing  filter-less 24-megapixel Sony sensor, the Autofocus is nothing like we have been used to with Pentax, the video capabilities are now matching the quality needed for video productions, the camera has two memory card slots, it is rated for 200,000 actuations, it has a new LCD screen measuring 3.2” with an aspect ratio of 3:2, it has a new 86,000 pixel metering system, it has on-demand antialiasing filter simulator, it has wireless tethering support, it can transfer images to tablets or smart phones and computers by using an Eye-Fi memory card, and the list goes on.

I am currently writing the e-book for the new K-3 and it is taking longer than I had anticipated. I will not cut corners and I want my e-book to be easy to understand, just like my preceding e-books. It is uncertain why Ricoh/Pentax produced the smallest manual for this camera while it is the most advanced camera ever produced by them. I am including more pictures, illustrations and screen images in this e-book than any of my previous e-books. I want to make it easy to understand for everyone owning the K-3 or thinking of getting it.

I work on the e-book every night for five to six hours. I anticipate completing the draft this weekend. It will likely take most of next week to add the table of content and the glossary. The editing will take place simultaneously.

So… the book will be ready before Christmas, somewhere between the 15th and the 20th of the Month.

I apologize for those waiting for the e-book, but I’m sure you don’t want me to take short cuts.  It is one thing to understand the K-3’s operability, but it’s another thing to explain it in writing and in an easy to understand non-technical way.

Thank you for your patience and for those who asked me to put their name and email in my waiting list, rest assure that I will be contacting you the minute the e-book is ready.

Thank you and Best Regards,

Yvon Bourque

The Ricoh GR e-book is put on the back burner while the e-book for the Pentax K-3 has become a priority.

 Hi Photographer friends,

I received several emails about writing another e-book for the new Pentax K-3. I was planning to release the e-book for the Ricoh GR next. The GR is actually a powerful digital compact, with an APS-C sensor.

Because of many requests, I am shifting gears and will put all my efforts into completing the e-book for the Pentax K-3 first. I envision a release in early December, just in time for the Holidays.

Thank you for your encouragement,

Yvon Bourque
