Back from Florida and back to work. I wish I could spend all my time taking pictures.

Hi Pentaxian friends.

Here are some final images from my trip to Florida. There's nothing like a week of vacation to lift your spirit. I have to say that Florida is a very photogenic State. The skies are beautiful and the sunsets are gorgeous, almost every night.

Everything has an end in our world, and this mini vacation too couldn't last forever. I will be working hard in the coming weeks, designing the Web-Store for AlettA Photographic. Custom Stabilizers are now in stock for Pentax, Nikon and Canon most popular DSLRs. The Stabilizers can also be adapted to most DSLRs by simply locating the mounting screw to your specifications (More on this in the coming days). The AllettA Photographic Web-Store will carry all kind of useful and uniquely designed accessories and e-books.

Now that I'm at home, I will resume posting on this site every day.

They are strange looking birds indeed.

Don't be afraid of manipulating some of your images. Sometimes, breaking all the rules produces interesting results.

Children running after the seagulls is a sure sign of summer in Florida.

This is nothing spectacular in Florida, it's like that every night.

I was young too at one time. This is my granddaughter having fun.

This man, dressed like a  soldier of the 1600's era, was really interesting.

I think I could live on one of these.

Images from St-Augustine Florida, Pentax K-5

Hi Pentaxian friends.

Today my wife and I spent the day in St-Augustine with my Grand Daughter "Ayla". We had a great time from starting the day on a merry-go-round, to a boat tour, to ice cream, chocolate, and buying clothing and jewelry. We even had some idiots announcing the end of the world for this coming Saturday. They scared my grand daughter. I had to tell her these people were crazy and tell everyone around that they should maxout their credit cards now before it was too late.

St-Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. It is quite an interesting place.

We started the day by letting Ayla ride the Merry-go-round several times.

Then is was some playtime in the park.

Pushed her on a swing set for a while.

Took a boat tour and saw some interesting wild birds.

Ayla even helped making her own lemonade.

This is Mister Pelican that we saw along the shore.

What are they going to do past Saturday...make new signs or cross the date and put a new one?

My wife and Ayla in the Town Square.

We listened to  interesting stories about the way it was at the Castillo de San Marcos, in the 1600's. (By the way, this picture was made using the Stabilizer set on the ground with the front legs extended so that the camera aimed at the Soldier.)

This is the Castillo de San Marcos.

There was one of these at each corner of the fort.

Florida with the Pentax K-5, and how to save your camera from a mini flood. :)

Hi Pentaxian friends.

My daughter was married this past Saturday and it was a great wedding. I would post some pictures  but it might be too personal to share here.

I am spending the rest of the week in Florida and today we drove to Amelia Island and took a few pictures. They are nothing special but they show the flexibility of the K-5 at high ISO.

Favorite mode of transportation along the beach.

Do you know what could happen to your camera if a glass of Rhum and Coke were to hit it? Well,  with the Aletta Stabilizer attached, the liquid goes right unver the equipment.

Hi Pentaxian friends.

I am in Florida this week for the wedding of my youngest daughter. With luck, me and my K-5 will make some good pictures in Florida. We got here today and it was a long flight from California.

I don't know who this guy is, but before the flight was over, he was listening to his iPod from his right eye and the back of his head!

We changed plane in Las Vegas and had an hour wait. My wife won $90.00 after a few spin and I won $40.00. We cashed it all in immediately. That is a pretty good return on our investment of less than $20.00.

On our way to Florida, somewhere over Nevada.

All pictures above were taken from my iPhone. The Pentax was in the storage bins.

Hi Pentaxian friends.

We just had a short lucky break in the sun. My daughter Marisa brought my granddaughter to the beach for a surfing lesson. She is a little too small yet, but they are never too young to learn. These are not the killer waves of Hawaii, but hey...they are big to her.

Vacation in Florida during the K-7 launch.

Hi Pentaxian friends.

Although I posted the launch of the K-7 on Wednesday morning, I was actually in Florida spending some quality time with my granddaughter. I had the script written in advance but I was still disappointed when leaks came from all over on Tuesday.

Nonetheless, I will post my impressions of the K-7 and talk about all the wonderful features it brings to the Pentax DSLR series.

For now, although I'm so happy to be with my granddaughter, it has been raining non-stop since I arrived and it will continue through the weekend. We were supposed to go to DisneyWorld, but no such luck this year with all that rain.

I know everybody wants to talk about the K-7, but I took a break from it and shot some pictures with my "still very good" K20D. Here they are:

It's been that way all week.

Trip to Florida

I'm just back from a 10 day vacation in Florida. My two daughters live there as well as my precious grand daughter. I never go anywhere without my K10D and this time was no exception. It was a real hassle going through security at airports, but it was well worth the inconveniences.

My grand daughter is a little over three years old and it took all I had to keep up with her. She’s going a mile a minute. It was a joy to spoil her a little. I told her that while I was there, she was the “Boss” and that we would do what she wanted.

We bought some toys, clothes, went out for sushi a few times, bought candy and ice cream, and went to the beach. I took a lot of pictures, and it’s a good thing that I live in the digital camera era. Films would have cost a fortune, giving that I took about 500 pictures.

I always enjoyed taking pictures of children. The first five minutes, they are a little timid but they soon forget about the camera and go on with their business. You know that three years old have a lot of business to tend to.

I used a Sigma EX 70-200 f/2.8 lens for most of my shooting. That way, I was able to stay far enough without disrupting her important business, and the bokeh that you get with a fast telephoto is great, at least with that particular lens. This is the only non-Pentax lens I own and I believe it’s one of the best lens Sigma ever produced. I am a little bias, but I think she is the most beautiful little girl I ever saw. I think she will be a star someday. She’s already my star. Hollywood........you can contact us on this site :)
