Where in North America is Javier Gutteriez's Pentax k1000?

Dear Pentaxian friends,

December 2008...The 2008-2009 Pentax K1000 North American Tour is underway. The actual K1000 with the Pentax smc A-50mm f/2.0 is traveling across North America as you read this. It left California around December 20, 2008, from Javier Gutteriez's house. Javier is the owner of the camera and he came up with the idea, adapted to this day and age. Nowadays, we send a camera instead of a pigeon. Its first stop was; Jeff Critser in Cary, North Carolina. It arrived there on December 22nd. As you can see, (Picture below) the camera took a break under Jeff's Christmas tree. Jeff took his pictures, and then handed the k1000 to Somanna Muthanna in Raleigh, North Carolina. Somanna is done with his share and the camera was sent to Justin Serpico in Clifton Park, New Jersey. Justin received confirmation that the camera was in towm and will acquire it tomorrow. Where is it going next?

I can only imagine what pictures and stories will be coming back to Javier at the conclusion of the tour. You just can't make up stuff like that. Who knows what lies ahead!

In the end, all pictures and short bio and stories from each participant will be posted here. It's a little like setting your child free and see what he'll do in his life journey.

Under the Christmas tree at Jeff's house.

Resting at Somanna's place in Raleigh, North Carolina

Jeff to the left and Somanna to the right. Two great Pentaxians.

On the road again, just can't wait to be on the road again...

Thank you for reading and stay tuned,
