OPERATION OF NEW K-7 CUSTOM FUNCTION (firmware update 1.01)

With firmware version 1.01, the PENTAX K‐7 now features an additional custom function called Operate at AF Point “SEL”.

This new custom function affects the behavior of the 4‐way controller when using user‐selectable focus point adjustment.

To modify this custom function, navigate through the K‐7’s menus to custom function 36. Highlight the custom function, then press the right arrow to see your available choices.
Highlight your choice, then press the OK button.

Calling Function Preference. By default, when using user‐selectable focus point
adjustment, pressing your 4‐way controller buttons will call the functions associated
with those buttons. To change your focus point, you must first press the OK button, then
use your 4‐way controller to change the focus point.

Select AF Point Preference. By default, when using user‐selectable focus point
adjustment, pressing your 4‐way controller buttons will change the focus point. To call a
function associated with one of the buttons, you must first press the OK button, then
press the button of the function you wish to call.
